The passing of Vic is a great loss to your family and the rest of the community. He was always so friendly and helpful. I went into the store many time needing a thing-a-ma-jig that I didn't know the name of he always was patient and helped me find the needed item. God welcome him into your arms.

I'm in New York, and won't be able to attend Vic's services. While here, I've been thinking about Vic and his special family. I'll miss seeing him around town, but will especially miss seeing him at the local fair and at Spr. & DuQuoin. I can't remember not seeing him at those venues in the past 50 yrs. I named a horse "KASSING" last year, he'll start racing this summer. Church, family & country were Vic's life, it was a good one.

Mary and family: How sorry we are to learn of your great loss. Your are in our thoughts and prayers. It was so generous of you to "loan" Vic to the community. He personified good citizenship. We can never forget his contributions to scouting, both boy scouts and girl scount, and to little league, but moreover to the American Legion. He was patriotism and good sportsmanship blended together and topped off with a great sense of humor. His passing is a loss for us all.

My deepest condolences to Mary and the family at this difficult and sad time. Vic (and Mary) are two of the kindest people in all of Brown County. Always a smile, always cheerful and helpful. I clearly understand how and why my sister Machele considered Vic to be her "adopted" dad...many camping memories with Teresa and her when they were young. He will be missed greatly. Hugs to all.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of the Kassing family at this time of Vic's passing. My most lasting impression of Vic was his humble devotion to his faith. When I was still able to attend daily Mass, Vic was always on his knees in church, head bowed talking to his God. If I went to Kassing Lumber and Vic was there he always came and had a visit with me. The last time I saw Vic, he pulled into my driveway with a wheelchair for me to use as he had been told I needed one badly. He was really not able to lift it out of the truck but was determined to bring it in for me to use. God welcome my dear friend, Victor Kassing. He was one of the best friends I ever had.

I didn't know Vic, but I'd like to tell this story to show he was quite a man.
While at my dad's visitation, I was standing by my dad, when Vic walked in. He looked at me and said: "Are you one of Jesse's boys"? I said yes. Vic said: "I never knew your dad, but he always spoke to me. I just wanted to be here". That meant the world to me and said a whole lot about Vic Kassing. My condolences to Vic's family.
